Saw two films tonight: Bright Young Things set in the British high-society of the 1930s and Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry. The latter shows his involvement in, then opposition to, the war in Vietnam. It explains what the swiftboats were doing, what the Winter Soldier Investigation was, and his role at the veterans' demonstration in 1971. Kerry displays his conviction and poise throughout.
The film brings together an amazing amount of archival stills, film, and video footage. I didn't know so much showing him existed, even if one of his friend's was doing some of the documenting. kdk
